Seems to be a pretty substantial re-design between the new and old models. Has anyone tried both? I’m likely committing to the V.2 but AUD $1900 is a fair whack!

Have had a few sessions on the 5’6” Pro.

I think the easiest way to explain it is that it does exactly what it’s designed to do. Watch Josh Ku’s three (plus the party wave) videos closely ‘cause that’s what you get.

This is a very refined step forward from an already impressive board. It will increase your wave count which in turn increases your time on foil and that’s what will make you a better foiler.

I wonder if the 50L could work for parawinging… certainly has the length 😄

Agreed, but it’s Josh Ku so I’m just going to disregard it when assessing what I could do with that board haha

Thanks mate. I’m looking at the 5’9’” pro. Trying to decide whether I need the extra volume of the standard model but 50L is huge and I don’t want to upgrade too soon. Is the paddling on the pro model as good as they make it look? If so, seems to me the extra 12L for the standard is just unnecessary swing weight

I’m 87kg and 52 years old, I find the 5’6” super easy to paddle. It gets into waves very early, is very stable and I find it super easy to turn and pump. I don’t want to speak on Josh’s behalf but I’d be fairly confident he’s aimed this board at a very large market from absolute beginners to rippers.

In my opinion, keeping the Kruzer thin is what’s made it so good.

Thanks - i reckon the surface area is more important and 5’9” by 20” should have plenty of paddle power already. So I’ll go with the thinner pro model

I haven’t tried v2 yet but have used v1 kruzer 5’8 for couple years mostly prone, dimensions always felt perfect. It’s 3’’ thick which is same as v2 regular. So the pro is super thin, and maybe just for ultra strong paddlers and not average joe ? Personally id want similar dimensions to v1 as its such an epic board, so would go 5’6 regular v2

Again, can only compare to v1 kruzer but also owned quiver killer which was a much thicker board. Kruzer feels more surfboard like with dimensions and much nicer connection to foil

I bought the v.2 and it’s making prone foiling a lot easier than I expected! I’ve tried smaller boards before but man it paddles in easy and has a huge margin for error. Very forgiving.

Those of you that bought the Kruzer V2. How’s the durability? Is it still as stiff as day 1? I have 23 sessions on mine and it still feels just as stiff. The entire board still looks like new, except for foot indentations where I stand. I’m really easy on gear though, so my stuff tends to look like new for a long time.

I have the 5’6" Regular 44L. I’m 84kg.

Probably not your average conditions, but i would be worried about long term durability if the track boxes are not connected to the deck

I’ve got the Kruzer V2 Pro, 5’6", 33L. I’ve had it for 5 months, multiple sessions per week. The board still looks and feels brand new. There are zero foot dents, but I weigh in at 142lb/64KG.

My previous board was a JS 4’1". With the Kruzer V2, I have easily doubled my wave count. However, my wave connections had seriously dropped off.

The Kruzer seems to have a smaller sweet spot for pumping vs my JS 4’1". I’ve had to narrow my stance to shoulder width on the Kruzer to be able to pump it adequately.

The Kruzer is forcing me to improve my pumping technique, so I’m sticking with it. It’s taking awhile to force myself to narrow my stance but I’m slowly getting back to getting double dips like I did with the JS 4’1".

</div>

Surprised by this too. Though if you put enough carbon/glass on the bottom and rails, the transfer of energy is spread by the clamping of the foil box to the mast plate such that the box assembly is not being moved independantly of the lightweight foam and the surrounding shell. Certainly no reason not to extend the high density to the top aside from a minor cost in $ and LBS?!

My Amos Kruiser 1 and Majek RTS, I think, are built in the same factory and same construction. They’ve held up great.

</div>

I think the foot dents on mine are due to the fact that I have the thicker regular model 5’6". I’m pretty sure that having more foam to compress is the reason. Granted, it’s not bad, certainly not more than a surfboard.

I wouldn’t hesitate at buying another one. In fact, I’m considering a 5’3" Regular but with the volume bumped up from 38L to 40L. This all said, I still feel my Armstrong boards and my Appletrees are a level higher in durability. Additionally, my Kruzer V2 is light, but not super light.

To give you an idea, my Kruzer V2 5’6" 44L Regular is 8lbs 10oz / 3.9kg.

I have an Armstrong 45ML: 8lbs .7oz / 3.66kg

And an Armstrong Surf 36: 8lbs 7oz / 3.83kg.

The 36 is not a fair comparison, as it’s smaller… but it’s not a light board IMO. But the 45ML is the straight comparison. Those ML V1s are usually heavy, but this one comes in lighter than the Amos.

I’ll also add my Appletree Pro Foil V2 37L - This one is the lightest: 7lbs 1oz / 3.22kg.

Appletree boards are known to be heavy, but this generally only applies to the larger boards 50L and up. Because it’s the foam that’s heavy.
