I’m 62kg or so. I currently have a 60L and a 100L and was looking for something in between and with positive buoyancy since my 60L is a bit challenging for the stage I’m at. I can get the little board going but need a big parawing and then I struggle to handle it when up on foil. My situation is probably not helpful for you, but I know many people do ride negative buoyancy boards and the shape of these is super stable compared to my other boards so if you are proficient you’d probably love it.
I appreciate the input!
I’ve got the 7’4 108L sup from their first batch. It’s a beautiful board, works great, weight is great, and is holding up great. Just ordered a second.
Demoed the ATV and Wingman in different sizes (and now I face very tough decisions since I like them all)…very nice boards all the way around…light, efficient, stable, fun…very nice fit and finish too. They are also really great people running a great shop…if you are ever in Hood River, you should definitely check them out, or give them a call to get setup…
I’ve used my 65 ltr a couple dozen times now. I weigh about 75 plus extra for wetsuit and second pw in backpack. The size is just right in decent wind, but I’ll sink past my knees, while standing, with no pressure in the wing. The board rides really well and the dims are great. I like the length (6’) a lot for PW. Pumping on foil is super clean. The mast tracks are well positioned, my mast is about dead center in tracks. (Cabrinha Union Prestige 905). I did manage to do some nose damage in our horrendous shore pound. (Hatteras shore break is frequently nasty). It was a pretty standard fix of cutting out the ding, filling the crunch with thickened epoxy and then small glass patch over it. All good and very happy with the board.
I felt like the ATV 65L was a rocket ship, really quick getting going with intuitive pump with nice feedback and release. As you’d expect from the dims, the 63L Wingman was not quite as quick, but felt a bit more laid back and comfortable to me on the water
I’d say no problem at with that volume if you have a little experience at least starting lower volume boards. The extra length really helps take off.
Pricing is a lot more reasonable on these than some other brands. Is this purely a result of going to direct to consumer? $1600 looking pretty attractive compared to $2500 for a kt super k v2 pro. Although the kt is a bit lighter based on manufacturer specs
I just got the 7’0 x 100L and am in love. Had been riding KT/AFS boards in the ~110L range past year and the Gunboat is unlocking a whole new level of riding for me - feels like I’m riding a midlength!
