Introducing F4 Foils

Hi,

the wing racing series is based on super powerful foil profiles, so we can get away with less surface area. The 575 may sound small, however the World Cup guys are getting up in 6-10 knots with these. As soon as it’s 12+ they are on the 424. There is also a 700 wahoo wing race front wing, it’s more of a conventional design.

Thx

Chris

Hi Chrisrad99 - great and thanks for the information. Perhaps a bit unfair - looking at the racing guys currently most seems to be in the 75-85 kg range. What would an honest guess the starting conditions for fit/aletic 95kg person on the 575 wahoo with a R-board 90L at high freeride level. And if above 12 knots - are F4 considering to make race stuff (monoblock) and perhaps 100-110L race boards to enable low wind racing for larger people? Cheers, Steen

Hi

We are working on a larger R board 100-110 Liter, not sure yet on release date!

There are several other wing options in the 600-900 range, that might work well. Some are from windsurf foil racing that you might be familiar with!!

I’ll definitely look forward to the bigger board (and a bigger monoblock race foil) Anyone to share their experience with the wahoo 575 (and perhaps also the 502)?

The world championship winning setup was the F4 SR Mast, Hammerhead 510, 100xs tail wings. Edo and Trent used the same foils in all the races as far as I know.

It is incredible that a F4 production foil setup won against all other brands custom and one off efforts.

This signifies that F4 is 2 to 3 years ahead of the competition in the product design cycle

@Chrisrad99 any plans of a smaller 138 ie a downwind surf tail with less area?

Hi,

There is 120 sqcm that should be on the website. It’s my go to setup for the orca 685!!

Thx,

Chris

Thanks. My understanding is the 120 is the smaller version of the 137 and is called a “surf stab”. My question is will there be a smaller version of the 138, which has the downwind foil section and i believe is called the “surf hybrid” or “downwind surf”.

(Forgive me if it sounds like I’m being pedantic with the guy who’s actually making all this cool stuff. Just trying to be specific)

Hi,

No worries, these tails come in 100, 110, 125, and 135. The downwind race guys are on the 100 or 110. Parawing normally 125 or 135. All should be on the website!

Thx

Chris
