Oka point in sanur is a consistent right during the current season, price for towing is 30usd per hour. Probably the cheapest and most accessible tow waves in the world

Scorpion Bay - Baja MX- I only surfed it many years ago but cant wait to Foil it. It is a very long wave (Right) and will connect way more often for foils.

I had thought about this, but I wonder how hard it would be to find a tow vessel?

Definitely, especially for beginners. I hear the pros leave old foils on the beach when they are done and because the water is so warm you can rider smaller foils than at home.

Here is the [location](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wategos+Beach/@-28.8397726,153.0754852,8.77z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x6b9063d41033c019:0x66756ef15dad8625!8m2!3d-28.6364053!4d153.633824!16s%2Fg%2F11bxfs7vy4?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDQwNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D).

Because it’s Australia it’s very safe and no worries, very friendly and lots of smiling.

The locals are very welcoming.

Extremely sharky and dangerous, especially deep hatred for foils and tourists, especially foil tourists.

If you haven’t gone insane from driving around in circles to get a car park. Sometimes you can see foilers getting excellent waves while you are still driving around an hour later.
Its a fun wave for foiling for sure but might not be as good as you think. There are plenty of better foiling waves around.
I personally prefer waves that reform and allow some left and right action on the same wave. Rivermouths are best for this. Chincama is a freak of a wave and impressive both visually and for length is it a foil wave for performance?

I clearly needed to be explicit about the “turn Wategos into the Uluwatu of foiling” joke I was aiming for

I guess “the locals are friendly” was sarcasm based on some of the hassles going on there with some of the surfers. Touchy subject to be joking about. 🙂
Some might consider already as the uluwatu of foiling. Hahaha.

Yes, the locals have completely blown up the spot, if it wasn’t so expensive it would be so much worse.

Imagine once all the Wategos surfers watch this and start foiling themselves lol

I said this the last time I surf foiled with 5 intermediates all linking wave - surf foiling probably has no future because of how quickly you max out a spot

</div>

That is very true but not well understood by foilers. Foiling needs very specific type of waves and they are not as common as you might think in the more traditional surf coasts. I feel surfing foiling has the potential to get crowded real quick in many of these areas.

Man, I feel bad for people foiling at “good” surf towns on the west coast. Shitty, small, mushy, long boring beach breaks on the east coast are EPIC foil spots. Any time I travel someplace with “good” waves it’s a nightmare. Honestly if you offered me a free trip to Chicama I’d probably turn it down it’s not worth the hassle I have 5 mile shore runs on tap at home.

I feel mostly the same way. I’ve been to Pacasmayo to surf. I can see the potential on foil. Towing in and going straight for a mile and a half isn’t super enticing to me. I have a very hard time convincing myself to travel for foiling. I could see going to Namotu to foil, but that would also involve surfing a real surfboard every day at Cloudbreak. I can still understand traveling to surf. Traveling to foil just seems wrong in a way. Sit on a plane for 10+ hours to ride tiny slow waves? I don’t get it.
