I don’t think so. The 100 is almost 2” narrower and higher aspect than the 115. It’s kind of in its own category.

Maybe it should be the ProVolution 100😂

Probably make the whole Progression line obsolete. From the marketing it sounds like “better everything”.

I use the progression 140 for my average 2 ft wave days and bought the 100 for head high plus days, I didn’t see the point in running the 140 and 125 .
The 100 is awesome for bigger waves, no doubt about it , smooth through turbulence and has tons of speed, It will pump if you can exit a wave with plenty of speed and high on the mast(something I’m working on)

As has already been said the progression 100 is still the only foil near an 80cm span. Physics will dictate that nothing is making it obsolete in the evolution range… at least not for bigger waves, towing or winging. Winging is what I’ve used mine for. As unifoil is not a big winging brand it will go under the radar a bit, but it’s incredible. Much prefer it to some other wing foil heavy hitters I’ve used (f-one sk8, AFS pure v2 700 and gong ypra surf which is what the world champ uses). It takes off a bit earlier than those wings too despite it size so looking forward to proning it.

Reading the replies / threads, I was set on the Progression 100 (even with its reduced pumpability) over the P125, but now there is the Evolution 115 which just may be the perfect companion for the Progression 140? Taking from bdavis above - E115 span of 873 vs P100 span of 824.

The info I got was that all but the biggest foils will be available at the beginning of the year. I’m hopeful but doubt that’s the case since there hasn’t been any mention of the other sizes from Uni or anyone else.

Same goes for the new masts too.

One key word that’s been excluded from all their recent marketing messages so far is “pump”. That’s my number one criteria for a prone wing. So interested to hear about that specifically…

</div>

At least Unifoil is honest with their marketing, and clearly explain what a wing excels at and trades off. Other brands… not as much. I would think the Evolution will pump great, either way.

Anyone tracking the camber on the evolution? High camber is definitely a trend right now and seems to be a good trade off.

I thought that was strange too, but can you have glide without pump? Or maybe there’s so much glide that you don’t even need to pump😂

</div>

Who needs to pump when there’s an integrated FD mast? 😄

It has the right specs for an efficient pump and it’s probably more technical/ less forgiving with the higher speed ranges. But it threw me off that they describe the Progressions as the reigning champ for pump efficiency. I bet they’re reserving some appeal with the P series for what the newcomers are focused on.

</div>

I found that strange too. How could lower Aspect and less span be better for pumping?

Hopefully there is some new innovation built into these foils… If not, UniFoil is about a year behind all of the other companies that came out with mid nine-ish foils

They must have taken a look at the code s and tried to make it comparable. I mean the biggest advertisement for code right now is mike pedigo, and Erik and Mike are like best mates so there must be some talk about how to make something as good as the code. I suspect the evolution with a similar AR is unis version. At some point there will be something better than code, not sure when or what it will be…

I’ve ridden code S (850 and 720). it doesn’t surf anywhere near as good as the progs but definitely has the superior glide and great for DW surfing.

There was mention of “slightly” higher stall speed compared to Progression. But i can’t imagine they would not pump well. The Evo gets the biggest size too, and if there’s really a DW model coming, then thise large Evolutions must be aimed at pump foiling

update

As an aside: Can someone explain how the AR numbers are calculated? span/cord ratio is not it.

</div>

**span squared divided by area**
mind the units, need to do all in mm2/mm or cm2/cm

So Evo135 with span of 914mm (= 91.4cm); area 870cm2
Aspect Ratio = 91.4 ^ 2 / 870 = 9.6

This is because
Aspect Ratio = Span / Average Chord
Average Chord = Area / Span
Therefore Aspect Ratio = Span ^ 2 / Area

The published “Chord” on that chart is actually “Maximum Chord”, which is why you can’t use it for aspect ratio calculation
