What Unifoil wing for downwind in bay conditions? Fetch is relatively short so waves are slow moving and weak, so looking for a foil with a low stall speed. What unifoil wing? Considering the Hyper 250 or hyper 210, does the progression 170 have similar stall speed to the larger Hypers?

Hyper 250 or Progression 170 would be my uneducated guess.

It really depends on your weight and skills. I like the prog 170 for light dw bay run type but hyper2 210 and 250 are even easier.

I’m 190lbs/86kg. Intermediate winger, beginner downwind foiler.
You prefer the progression 170 to hyper in bay conditions because better turning or speed range?

Definetly 250 for beginner or intermediate.

I like the Prog170 because of the glide.

Could anyone with experience compare and contrast P200 vs. H2 210?

P200 seems a better fit, very slow. H2 is likely to need more speed than you are able to generate. Anecdotal evidence from a friend not managing on either but doing better on the 200, and my own experience finding the 200 easy enough after the axis 1300

How big is the difference between 1300 and 200 in initial lift and glide? I have been on both but 12 months difference between the two, so I forget

200 significantly less, but isn’t on rails like the 1300

I’ve been using a Prog 200 to learn to downwind. Find it an easy foil to use, very low stall speed, turns pretty well. Much easier to turn than a big very high aspect foil. Can’t comment on the Hyper 210 as I haven’t used it.
