Thanks for the review. A few questions:

  1. Do you think this is a good pw for up/downwind laps?
  2. What’s the sweet spot wind range for the 3.1? Is the website’s range accurate for this?

Currently happy with my 777 Hybrid 3.1, but haven’t had the chance to try very much else in that size.

What is your collapsing technique for the LTX? Do you pull all the A lines or just the middle A lines? And how is the bar pressure when unhooked?

  1. Absolutely. That’s what I used it for originally. I think if that’s all you care about tho then there are probably better options. This one is really well rounded without sucking at any one thing.
  2. Wind has been horrible so that’s really hard to tell. I never parawing at Stevenson but they do have steady wind there so I went once with the LTX when it was steady 25 knots. Absolutely epic session.

Sheet out and pull all A lines in every time. Have never needed the center A technique, even in high winds. Bar pressure is medium plus. It’s not light in your hands but it maintains the same pressure in light to nuking which is really nice.

Thanks for the great review. I’m looking for a new parawing in the 3-3.5m range for when my hybrid 4.3m gets overpowered in 30+ knots (97kg dry).

Would you say get the LTX over the hybrid? How is the low end? A friend has the hybrid 3.1 and 4.3 and feels there is too much of a jump in sizes. I.e overpowered on the 4.3 but can’t get up on the 3.1m. Cheers.

I think I covered the low end topic in the article pretty well. If you have a specific question I’m happy to answer that.

As far as LTX vs Hybrid: I would go Hybrid if you are more of a dedicated upwind downwind rider. LTX is the better all-rounder. I wouldn’t have any issue getting either going at 30 knots.

Thanks for a good read and all the details. Would you recommend this for a beginner PW in the Gorge?

There’s probably easier parawings to learn on. A committed solid foiler who understands the limitations and is looking for the long term performance would do well with it if they have the patience to sort out the idiosyncrasies of parawinging.

Thank you for your time and efforts in writing this review. I was not sure if hybrid or ltx, but I think I will enjoy the usability of the ltx more than the upwind gains of the hybrids.

Do you have video footage of your riding with the ltx?
