I appreciated the honesty in the review though, and its claim is best ever for him, not necessarily for every rider on the planet. Overemphasis probably comes with the Italian vibe. Pinch of salt required.
But it seems like a relaxed ride without a harness, which we don’t see much in typical videos.
Looking forward to fly or demo one in the next couple of weeks.

Just played with a 3.5 on the beach, and it’s such a joy to handle, bar/bridle setup is super clean, good feedback on the bar, precise steering, felt quite punchy, and the pack assist does its job incredibly well… It felt very refined. Looking forward to good winds, but it’s officially mine now…
As someone who rides Frigate v1s all the time I was pretty happy with the v2

Thanks for the review. Im pretty curious on this one. Are you familiar with the Quest? Any takeway comparisons between them, particularly pumping, low end and line length? Pretty divergent views out there. Don’t love the leading edge collapse you showed in the light wind, but maybe that just takes some input adjustment.
I’ve only tried the quest as an on water swap for 15 minutes and it was underpowered. It was okay, but I didn’t love it. I think the low end pump was decent, I was riding my 4.7m Frigate and swapped to a 4m Quest and was still managing fine.
I think the LE collapses are in part due to the dirty Hood River wind, but yes, it’s certainly not ideal. I’d like to try it out in my home conditions. It was never an issue for me but was a bit of a surprise when it almost fully collapsed during a violent pump up.

Thank you. I was asking for comparison to the Quest because that’s what I’m used to and considering replacing my large Quest with a large(r) Frigate. Love the Quest (and v2) bar, line length, and low end just want a bit better upwind angle.
Is the v2 good enough for you to upgrade from the v1? Reading between the lines, Im not really sensing glowing feedback from anyone, but its still early days and all these sails take some adjustment.
The increased wind range is quite nice, as is the uncluttered bar (and smaller bar compared to 4.7/5.5/6.5)
In places like Hood River where the wind is gusty and swings by large amounts it’s a solid upgrade. In places with more steady wind the v1 quivers will still be good for quite a while.
