Aspect ratio of boards and foils

how much you looking in the aspect ration of the downwind boards?
as all board getting extremely long , seems to me that is important to compare them not only by visual shape but also by aspect ratio ( length\width)
for example:
Armstrong 8’2X16 3/4" - 5.8 AR
F-one 8’0x18" 110L - 5.0 AR
StarBoard 8’2x18" 100L 5.5 AR
Sonuva 7’6x18" 113L - 4.9 AR

what do you thinks?

I made a spreadsheet for this

Seems like the AR is going steadily up, and this is only downwind boards, I’m sure wing boards have gone up too

Median AR for brands by year:

James Casey discusses the idea of a foil ratio, with attached spreadsheet. Seems like a good idea but probably needs to be locked for similar AR or reconsidered with AR in mind

I actually liked the old Gofoil way of naming their foils. Although never explained by Alex Aguerra, the way I perceived it having own a number of them before they changed to naming by cm²:

The number represents the ability to lift someone at 15 knots on a same standard board.
GT140 : 140lbs rider
Maliko 200: 200lbs rider
Maliko 280: 280 lbs rider
Etc

And it was pretty consistent for various riders weight IMHO

This sheet is wonderful!

i had some spare time so i upload all the boards i found online ,
this really give you good perspective on all the boards in the market , and help chose and compare boards .
Mabey next step is to add the board price?
