how to find perfect position of mast in pump foiling?

Does it even matter? The go to board for pumpfoil is the Gong Kluber 80 and it doesn’t even have tracks. It’s about finding your feet positions on the deck, not the mast position in the track. Your back foot matters much more than your front as well.

You will just have to test it. Which foil do you run?

board: axis tray 110 v3; foil PNG1150,stab460, mast82
i’ve been using on the middle position “5”; i guess is just like windsurfing, put mast base in the middle and is hard to go wrong.

Its probably pretty close. i have used a similar set up. if anything, you might move it back in the box a bit.

It’s hard to go too far back if you have a light pump board. The downside of going too far forward is you want to put your front foot off the nose. The downside of going too far back is excess swing weight, but there’s next to no swing weight to worry about with a pump board.

You should place the mast based on where your back foot is normally landing. You want your back foot to be over the front half of the mast to maybe slightly forward of the mast.
