I like how the 500 has no benefit over the 750 or 980 in this chart.
I’m thinking of a comparison site where you pick two foils, your weight, your conditions, your skill, your water temp, your aim, and comment on the differences. It’d be super complicated.
I think it’s fun to try different foils, and foiling on a Takuma 500 has made me way better on axis art v 2 999 which is actually 1000mm span.
I just saw on IG what appeared to be a leaked clip of the axis Surge surf foil. Fucking ig wouldn’t let me go back and find it. Looked sick. Think i saw AR 9???
I’ve heard the Lift 90HA is difficult to pump. How did the ease of pumping compare between the 90HA and Surge 830? How does the 830 compare to the Lift 120HA?
I’ve never tried the 90HA. I’ve had one session on the Surge 890 in WH+ waves and I thought it was more user-friendly to pump than the Lift 120HA.
830 pumps somewhere in between 90 and 120. Iv gotten back into longboard surfing and only prone foil on glassy 2-3ft days when its easy to pump the 90. When i use to grab a bigger foil to pump against wind or current, i prefer to surf over foil nowadays… 90 is pumpable as long as you keep mast and speed high
Thank you for your thoughts. It seems the Surge 780 (643 cm2) or 740 (590 cm2) would be a better comparison with the Lift 90 (580 cm2). The 830 (728 cm2) is bigger and lower aspect ratio.
830 has a similar wingspan to lift 90. Low end is less important to me than when i first started. Once both foils at speed, which one feels better is my concern and wingspan is more relevant here.
