New parawing model from ozone. Curious to hear more about the differences from the Pocket Rocket. Lines look shorter and it has more of a pocket in the leach (maybe slightly less efficient upwind?). New bar rigging with no B line attachment. Maybe lower aspect? Maybe fewer or redesigned leading edge battens?
I’m guessing this is kind of a Ka’a style wing with good low end, short lines, but more limited upwind. Not a Pocket Rocket replacement.
Photo 3 makes me feel like theres definitely something going on with the leading edge battens or lack thereof. Those battens are part of what adds packdown bulk to parawings, and I feel like they are doing something different here. At the very least the leading edge “shape” is much smaller and shallower than the Pocket Rocket and it looks like the fabric ribs are a lot different.
Definitely lower aspect. Looks like the center of the canopy extends further back in the middle, to add more surface there (and remove it from the wingtips).
“The PowerPack is different to your amazing Pocket Rocket, The Powerpack has been designed for the Stash in mind. Your Pocket Rocket is still a great allrounder.”
Iain Hannay - Ozone Kites General Manager
So many little tweaks look to be packed into this one. I’m excited to hear ride reports and wonder if those alterations will be exclusive to the Power Pack or if those are signs of things to come whenever a Pocket Rocket v2 shows up?
Pull the front bridle lines from the control bar side to the wing canopy by hand. This will automatically position all the leading edge reinforcement battens next to each other.

This is a very nice user centric idea to have the A lines split into a grab bunch, and it looks like a straight line (no knots or splices to the LE) which is excellent. This would be a happy complement to my PR.
Some people are just taping the bottom few inches of their center A Lines to cluster them together. Should have a similar effect. I think I’m going to try it.
A bunch of riders have been asking about availability on the new Ozone Power Pack, so we’re opening pre-orders to make sure everyone gets first pick when they land. No rush, just keeping the crew in the loop.
Are you greenhat kiteboarding? If so, a bit of friendly constructive feedback- It’s really hard to see anything on your web page on my laptop as the banner is so big & wide that it takes up a lot of the screen. Kinda annoying that I have to squint & scroll & turns me off. Perhaps you could change it to a hidden one? keep up the good work.
Can anyone confirm the number of lines in that center section? It appears to be 16 A/B lines from the pics. Then another 5 on each of the 2 outside lines, total 26 full length lines in the A/B system alone.
Perhaps more total line length on a 3.6M Power Pack than on a 21M R1 V5. I realize upwind performance wasn’t a priority but to just get up and pack away, buy a beater V1 Maliko for 1/3 the price…
No issues packing my Pocket Rockets though I hope they build an even higher upwind performance single surface version eventually. This is clearly not that.
