Sounds like the pouch is pretty big — will a small 3 m Parawing still fit snugly?
So I’ve used the Venstrata pouch a few times now and while the pouch is very deep, it is also super snug and the fabric doesn’t stretch too much. When the parawing is in there, it’s not going anywhere - even a 3m. It’s actually kind of hard to stuff the parawing in with the fabric as taut as it is and I’m hoping it stretches out a little as I use it more.
Do you think it works well with a 5m? Having been designed to carry 2 pws I guess it should fit, but am worried about ease of stashing it in since the material is not spandex
To clarify, the pouch is very large, but the opening at the top is super tight.
I’ve used it with a 5. There is plenty of room even with the expansion buttons closed. That said, it’s hard to get that much fabric through the opening.
Saw one of these recently and its really well done. Really like the second sleeve for the bar. Im very happy with my venstrata, but this is a solid alternative too. Only thing I don’t like is that Ion uses really supple 1" webbing, which is more prone to twisting and loosening than the more standard 1.5" webbing.
Also saw the larrabee gear works pouch in person and while it looks very well made, the pouch is quite small for a bigger parawing or crap stash.
I think I have tried on in shops all parawing harnesses on the market (including Ion and Venstrata), and I still think the Larrabee is the best for me. Even though the Larrabee has relatively thin padding and structure, I find it very comfortable on my back because you can wear it low down where all the pull comes through your hip bones instead of from your lower back, and it rarely rides up. I can fit my 4m Quest in the pouch if I fold it well, but it is tight. Not a problem for me, because stashing doesn’t matter that much in light wind here.
Got the Prolimit stash belt. a bit smaller than ozone v1. Better support for lower back and comes with leash attachments as well as a good hook. Material seems a bit more durable than ozone. The closure also feels a better than ozone’s. More secure. Used it only once so far and it suffers from the same loosening as ozone but not bad. Overall, seems a good value.

I haven’t got around to asking before. I have the ozone, its the only one I know. the velcro on it seems poorly thought out, often “re-latching” when empty and making it harder to stuff everything in
My favorite is also the Larrabee. While the pouch is a bit small overall the belt is head and shoulders above the Ozone and NSI I own. The main advantage is that the Larrabee doesn’t loosen which both the Ozone and NSI did. Those two both rely on a Fastex buckle and the return wrap holding the webbing just slips as pressure is applied through the session. I ended up tying knots in the webbing to stop it but it was a real pain and hard to get to fit right. The Larrabee fastening hook is solid, and I do like the support from the structure around the back which is more significant than the other two. I also prefer the Fidlock pouch closure over the velcro of the Ozone and the Cord pull of the NSI. Overall it’s a great belt. It’s not perfect, but it’s really close and I really don’t have any complaints.

You could buy some cheap plastic tri-glide slides ($1-2) to prevent the webbing from loosening during use. They are very effective even with powered up riding and using a harness hook on the strap.

For all you Larrabee users, does the hook pull above the belt (padded velcro sections)?
The webbing on mine rides up above the belt anytime I’m hooked in. It still works, its just annoying. Wondering if it is just me (not setting up the system correctly).
Mine doesn’t seem to do that, it stays located over the padded sections. I am running it at about as small as it can go for the size, with the two velcro sections completely interacting with each other. I can see how if you have to have the belt more open, with less overlap on the velcro, you’d have a longer section of loose webbing where the harness hook rides which could then be long enough to ride off of the belt. If that’s the case, and you have to wear the belt fairly open, I wonder if it would improve if you went up a size?
has anyone tried the new ion jam parawing harness? looks pretty good, not sure about separating the bar from the canopy though. wonder how it compares to the larrabee, which looks like the best closing mechanism out there. currently running the ozone v1 which is fine but not ideal when you have to paddle through breaking waves, as it can sometimes open.
