What is the best thing to adjust to become a better foiler Move mast forward , shorten stab, smaller front wing. I feel if I do all three at the same time that would mess me up to much. Thanks for any advice
Nothing beats getting on foil everyday for improving but I also found a shorter fuse helped me learn a quicker pump cadence and it allowed me to do more nimble turns.
Kind of hard to be on a “bad” setup these days with all the new amazing foils in the last 2 years.
Lots of good advice out there on what sizes/foils are good for what/who - don’t overthink it. You’ll get used to almost anything if you spend enough time on it.
Gear aside, just spend as much time on foil as possible, and don’t underestimate the value of spending time doing other disciplines even if they aren’t your main target.
What discipline and what do you classify as better? Pumping for an hour? Strapless airs? Sub 2min km?
Prone, looking to improve in turning and pumping currently on p170 6’2” 200 lbs was riding the p200 liking the 170 now
To improve pumping ride a larger foil. Work on cardio.
To improve turning, ride a smaller foil, get some kind of e-assist so you get more reps.
The main one though is film yourself and review every session. Have someone coach you so another set of eyes will spot things you miss. You most likely need to move your front foot back as that is a huge common error.
for both turing and pumping, work on standing further back, it makes the foil turn better, pumping easier
here is a thread about it
Smaller front wing not necessarily.. but riding smaller front wings helps u learn how to ride larger front wings
