Amos Sultan for winging

I’m looking at the Amos Sultan Prone 55L as a winging/prone board. I’m just learning to prone and I have a 30 L board as well, so the extra volume is probably helpful. But I’m curious about people’s experiences with it as a midlength wing board, because the reality is I wing more than I have the opportunity to prone. How does it compare to the designated midlength wing boards like the Armstrong midlength FG for example? It’s a bit shorter and thicker (same width for the 55) but I don’t know about the shape differences.

One of the regulars in The Gorge has one, I can’t remember his name. He says he loves it.
I think you can make better choices for a purely wing board, but seems right on the mark for a hybrid wing/prone option. :person_shrugging:

Good choice for hybrid prone and wing board. Can take a little bit to get used to the skinnier smaller wing boards as they aren’t as stable as their wide counterparts when you go from knees to feet but its not impossible. I will never go back to a traditional wing board ever again. Lots of guys like the armstrong boards and I have only seen a few amos around here. Availability is a factor.

The 40 L Kruzer actually looks promising as a wing board as well, at least for my weight (61kg). Wider and thinner but it’s 5’8’’ in length.

Where are you located? Remember there are a whole bunch of great independent shapers who’ll make you exactly what you want for probably cheaper than an off-the-shelf board!

True, but I’m not sure there’s a lot of prone expertise here. I’m in Vancouver Canada.

Currently using the 65L Amos Sultan prone for winging. If you have wind to power your wing up, its a great wing board. It builds board speed really well for size and paddles great. The location of the track boxes makes for a really balance ride, so once on foil, it feels much smaller than it is.
I am about 75 kilos.
