It’s interesting that you felt compelled to leave this comment. I took a moment to look through your post history to get a better sense of the kind of person who goes by FoilyMcLipshitz.
I noticed you were trying to rent out your gear—$50 a month for a stabilizer? And that you were selling your AXIS 1099 for $500—$100 more than mine.
It’s worth remembering that forums like this exist to help people learn, share experiences, and support each other. If your contribution to the discussion isn’t constructive, maybe take a step back and ask yourself: Am I actually adding value, or just trying to stir the pot? Because at the end of the day, being part of a community means acting like you belong in one.
That said, if anyone is genuinely interested in gear, I’m happy to be flexible on prices, especially if you’re picking up multiple items. If you’re local to San Diego, I’d even be willing to let you try before you buy—and for anyone new to foiling, I’m happy to offer some guidance to help flatten the learning curve. After all, that’s what this community should be about.
Bro I am not trying to ruffle feathers. Just pointing out that your prices for some really old tech are high. My 1099 listing was 2.5 years ago when that wing was still worth $500. The HPS wings are even older. I hope you get your prices. I am not interested in buying any of them but I see those wings going for more like $250 as of late. There’s more used axis stuff for sale than any other brand in the US. You’re best bet is the Axis FB fore sale page. Lots of early adopters on this forum like myself who pay retail and know that the used market can be painful for anything over a year old much less 3-5 years old. Forums are for people to opine on posts. What else can I do while I’m taking a crap?
Agree. As an avid buyer/seller of used axis gear, there’s a lot of product out there, and a lot of evolution, which has driven prices way down for used gear.
ART/BSC/HPS usually in the $200-250 range
ART pro seem largely unloved by the market and don’t get much more, other than 1201 and 1401
Spitfires seem to retain a little more value, but still only in the $400 range.
Masts and fuses def retain more value.
Not really seeing any used PNG V2, ART V2, or fireballs yet but my wallet is looking forward to those coming to the used market this year!

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I got off social media and don’t have any FOMO anymore. I did break down and buy a AV2 839 which is fantastic. I really liked riding my HPS 930. Evolution happens but at this phase the 2-3 year old gear is still pretty darn good. The reality is just getting out there and riding whatever gear you have is what it’s all about.
Wow, if you are easily triggered, you probably should not read this.
Whatever happened to just letting someone figure out their equipment is overpriced by it just sitting there with no inquiries or responses. Instead everyone acts like an idiot telling them what price they should sell at. Does it really bother you people that much that you have to take the time to login and write that some one is asking too much money on the internet. OMG that guy’s prices are ridiculous, I need say something now! It is a simple as if you don’t like what is on one channel, just change the channel. If you are not interested, then just be quiet. Move on, nothing to see here. If you are interested, then try and bargain. But to come on here and just rip some one because what you think the price should be is pathetic and catty. This is how forums fall apart. I really like this forum for the information that has been shared. The foiling community has been pretty good for the most part. We need to keep it that way by not exhibiting this behavior. No one will want to come here and ask questions or share ideas if this continues.
The only reason I looked at the thread at all was to see if there might be something I was interested in purchasing.
I’ve been selling used foiling gear since 2020 when I first started buying foiling gear, both new and used. My opinion about the price of used gear is the same now as it was then. At no point did I attack or demean the original poster, or call him an idiot. I simply stated my opinion and experience about the value of used gear.
Obviously there is a lot of used gear out there and reading some opinions about what that gear is worth might help people price their used equipment better.
