Being taller rider for foil pumping

Hello. I just have a question. Do longer limbs(Legs) help for generating speed in pumping hydrofoil (surf/flat water)? I’m 6’5 tall and a little bit struggling in balance on surfing, but do my longer legs give me an advantage on foil pumping, especially for creating more speed rides due to my leverage length?

6’5 here. Sorry, it doesn’t really help with the pumping. You just don’t need that much range or strength to pump well. The only thing being tall has helped with is turning larger foils hard.

Can you please clarify? You said the only thing being tall will help is “turning larger foils”, but you’ve also said “it does really help with the pumping.” Sorry, I’m just confused

Just a typo, edited for clarity. It doesn’t help with pumping, you just don’t need that much range

I was thinking that foil pumping was like jumping, the longer legs you have, the more power you will create to jump further. By the way, how long have you been foiling?

Started in 2018. Without going into the physics of it, foiling is much more finesse and endurance than raw power. Most foils pump more efficiently with small quick pumps rather than big powerful ones
