Best foil and Board for catching waves and tow surfing 90kg

Hi, I’m 90kg intermediate / Advanced Surfer. I’m researching looking for advise for the best foil and board that will be used for catching waves paddling and also tow-in with the jet ski.

I’m aware you need to drop volume for tow-surfing, but if I go under say 34 litres I won’t be able to use it for catching waves paddling as it won’t float me.

Which set up do you think would work best for an all-in-one.

You don’t NEED to drop volume, a prone board works perfectly fine for towing. In fact i think there’s advantages to using the same board for both - easier water starts, same setup and foot placement..

94kg and very average surfing abilities and I managed to learn prone on a 5ft x 21 45litre. Use the same board for towing and kiting. Strapless. Width gives stability that helps alot in takeoffs.

You will need two front wings through. Around 1200 cm² for learning prone and no bigger than 850 cm² for towing. Mid aspect wings are defintely easier to learn on and to turn in the pocket as well as slowing things down in big towing waves. Unifoil Vyper are very affordable secondhand. 170 and 130 served me well. But there’s many good brands to choose from.

It’s a long journey, but worth it.
