Best POV and 360 camera plus accessories 🙏

Hi all

What are people using?

Whats the best set up? Insta 360 -latest 5 version?

Also for say surf foil and DW and Parawing what do you recommend? Selfie stick? If so how mount that? I quite like the POV and or selfie stick up high above head / shoulders. Cool views. How best to attach that? Also what if you drop it? Floatation? Lanyard?

What would you buy to set things up perfect?

Is GO PRO or others even an option?

The x4 air might be worth the video quality trade-off for the weight. Especially if you don’t have a beast of a computer for editing.

I’ve been using the Insta360 x4 for lite 20 months, this week it finally gave in - it seems the “motherboard” is having issues, first started failing to turn on the wi-fi and connecting to my phone, reset the camera and worked again, couple seshs and now it’s not reading the sd card, so combining issues, according to chatgpt high probability it’s over for me, and not worth the hassle to try to repair it.

But back at your questions, when it worked, it was fine, always had to take into account to clean manually the lens cause drops can stay on it and screw the shot. Editing took me some time, but once I learned it to manage the 360° editing, it’s pretty useful and software is very complete for my needs.

For prone and parawing I have the Aquapole floating carbon stick 120, it’s a expensive, but so far it’s been durable and very good, floats long enough to recover it (after time passes, it might start to soak some water) and it’s super stiff and light.

For SUP surfing - I use this cheap amazon accesory

For winging I use the A3D Wingshot - it’s light enough and works great for me -

For now, I’m considering going back to GoPro Max 2 - Always liked the GoPro ecosystem and subscription gives you unlimited video upload (hope it’s still the same) and the GPS tracking it’s integrated, so for donwwinds it’s cool to show speeds synched with the video :slight_smile:
