Best system to buy into for all new gear?

This is first time hearing gofoil or lift have rust issue, gofoil only have two screw total holding on two the tail and front wing. No issue beside the front square taper have play with different front wings, you have to shim it with tape. Even then there is some play on the front wing.

Now I’m on code foil, I really like the tuttle/taper connection and rear stab. Solid connection and pretty easy to remove out of the mast. Zero play.

I felt like all the newer connection system fixed all the connection issue from the earlier design. I think most earlier brands would redesign their connection if it didn’t alienate their current users.

“Is the rust issue in the room with us right now?!”

Yup
Gofoil is carbon on carbon.
Zero dependences on bolts, in fact you can use plastic bolts and it will still work fine.
Their bolts are stainless steel onto stainless steel threads.
No clue what rust issue with Gofoil is about.

Passes a plush foil “Show me on the doll where the rust touched you.”

To me “Show me on the Doll where Armstrong hurt you”. Me - points to a small plush wallet…

Just… :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Is our local WhatsApp the only one where the :zebra: guy just get picked on constantly?

I am very tempted by the Duotone Dlab system and the Glide 2.0 wings.
They tick a lot of boxes in construction and dims.

They have 3 M8 screws holding fuse to mast.
Fuse and wing are one piece, with short tailpiece.
All carbon.
Skinny UHM masts.

I have rented Duotone gear in the Canary islands and the foils fitted together with very impressive precision and rigidity. They did not have the Glide 2.0 when i rented though.

The wing designs were holding me back a bit, not as sexy playful as a Kujira for example.

But this Glide 2.0 foil seems to be up to anything else on the market.
I was thinking a 750 and a 900 as quiver for Wing,SUPfoil and ParaWing.70-75kg.North Atlantic conditions, gusty winds, lowish period swell, dense water…
Any input from users?.

I recall talking to someone who’s ridden enduro and glide 2.0, and thought they were similar but glide had better low end. Which sounds pretty good to me.

I’ve changed from Code S series to Duo Dlab 900/750 Glide 2.0 but don’t wing (only prone).

Been really happy with the gear so far, the new skinny 76cm mast is nice & slippery & both wings have great low end & also pump with loads of glide. The main difference I have found compared to my previous Code gear is that the Glides turn/roll much easier.

Using the 120H tail on the 900 & 165H/750, if your winging I’d also be looking at the new Carve 3.0.

Foiling is supposed to make people happy, that Armstrong fanboy was just an angry dude. Was upset people.didnt ride Armstrong like he does.

If I could start over I’d buy a Cedrus and be agnostic.

I would also be tempted by Cedrus if I didn’t also like multiple lengths depending on discipline…

I’ve been mostly riding Lift gear for the past 3 years, usually prone foiling 3 to 5 times per week. I’ve never had any rust problems. I always leave the mast connected to the board but disconnect the mast from the fuselage. I leave the front wing and tail wing assembled.

The problem with Lift were the flexy masts. The front wings have been legendary.

I’ve also tried F-One SK8’s and Eagles and various Axis foils. For prone foiling, I still prefer Lift 150HAX and Lift 120 HA.

I have upgraded from the Lift masts (28" and 32") to the Cedrus Evolution Surf 82.5cm mast. When I switch from prone foiling (Lift 150HAX) to dock starts (Axis 1300PNG), I only change the front wing/fuselage and tail shim. Same board, mast and tail.

For anybody starting out, and they can afford it, definitely start with Cedrus Evolution Surf mast.

How does duotone pump compared to the code

My experience is that the 900 Glide 2.0 pump’s similar to the 980S - much easier for me than the 850S & the 750 only a little more effort than the 850S.

I have never considered Duotone as an option because I don’t wing but our local shop carries them & loaned me a demo for a few weeks before changing over.

Code are also great & super easy to sell so if you can’t demo first to confirm, I definitely wouldn’t recommend changing.

I wish they made an extensor adapter. Why not?

I’ve asked Kyle this, and my memory of the conversation was this: it’d have to be on the plate end, but there’s much more load there, and so would require a collar of some size, and he’d had complaints about drag from bigger collars in the past. I still think it would be worth it. Kind of want a dummy plug cover for my fd so that would be a 50mm extension.

tossing ‘fanboy’ around is kinda rude. just sayin!
