F4 AX Mast vs. Armstrong Performance X Mast

Hi,

The new Armstrong Performance X mast is around 12 mm thick with a chord of around 106mm. Depends a bit on the size you go with. The mast angle is 0.5 degrees on the smaller sizes and 1 degree on the larger sizes.

Does anyone know the specs on the F4 AX mast?

Would really appreciate insight into how the masts perform differently. In which ways is one better than the other?

Thanks!

Even if the masts were identical, F4 had a huge advantage with the slim fuse design and 5 exposed screw heads. Armie has 10? Plus the thicker fuse connection and round fuse behind the mast.

I enjoyed Armstrong gear, but as I moved more and more into open ocean/bay swell, I realized I needed every bit of help I could get as a 40 year old dad of 3. Reduced inherent drag is the name of the game, plus some magic unicorn foils.

Thanks for pointing this out. From a $ perspective I was thinking it’s nice not to have to buy a fuselage but I hadn’t though about how it also makes the overall foil more efficient.

With systems like Armstrong, Code and others you do pay a lot more for a fuse and tail separately. That said, it’s impossible to compare the price of the $3.4K F4 mast to anything else.

Shit and I thought cycling was expensive… I could buy a race-quality full suspension carbon mountain bike frame for $3.4k :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: (rear shock included).

$3.4K AND you have to already be an F4 customer. Looks awesomer. Just going from 120mm chord masts to 100 already did amazing things to my foils. 85mm must be that much more maneuverable.

It’s open to everyone.

I have handed off SR to non F4 customers.

We just wanted to make sure we could handle the inicial Demand. We are getting caught up. And have stock
