I see a lot of guys riding really small wings for downwinding with Parawings. Everyone here is mostly on bigger (1300 or so) wings with SUP for our Bay Runs.
Aside from getting on foil, how much can you generally downsize in small conditions on a parawing vs SUP? I’m entry level at downwinding but it feels like a 1000cm wing should work in most conditions with the parawing?
You should still size your foil for the speed of the waves you are going to ride. The modern 13 AR foils now can overtake waves quite effortlessly though so if you want to push for speed then the limit becomes how much energy is in the waves and the paddle up / para up ability of your foil.
