I’ve got the option to buy a brand new SIC Mako SUP (from 2022) Foil board for silly cheap, but even just looking at the shape of it the tail rocker is huge and it will need a huge board shim (estimated about 6 degree positive shim). I’m wanting it for my first few Parawing sessions and then for my friends to learn to wing on it, and my kids to play around on it as a SUP. I’m comfortable designing and 3D printing a shim for it, but is it even worth it or will it just be a nightmare trying to make this 2021 shape work? It’s a good volume at 114L.
It does have some benefits as a starter parawing board, as it’s closer to mid-length in shape than a big square wing board, and also has a lot more volume up front like the new generation parawing boards. Should I go for this or just an older Wingboard.
