I prefer smaller, shorter span wings for the turning abilities but i recently got a 1350cm2 1.15m span Duotone Glide 2.0.
This is pretty big for my 75kg and way bigger than my “goto” wing front wing of 750cm2.
Intended purpose is increase number of DW days with the Parawing.
I have tried it with the wing too and on very mellow days it is super chill fun. With an 85cm mast it still can be banked enough for surfing small waves and it just rises and floats in ridiculous wind.
In the vid 7.2x25x105ltr board, 5.0m wing ,not a whitecap in sight.

nailed it!
94kg, and I can pump and turn the sk8 850. I agree, -1cm or so you’ll notice it.
for me going from the sk8 850 to sk8 750 was like the difference of surfing in 1-2ft waves vs 2-3ft+.
the Sk8 750 felt like you needed to generate speed on (tiny) waves to even make it out, and of course it turns and feels like shortboarding, but legit you need to have sections and push to make it out otherwise you can sink it just from pressure from front foot. What would be very to exit on the sk8 850 requires alot more effort and cadence for the sk8 750. Usually a 2for1 or less….and backwash kills ALL your speed/messy water.
The Sk8 850 is my daily driver, all conditions. I dont’ mind working for waves at 1-2ft. I can pump the back, and mess up here and there if i’m not careful or paying attention to water movement, ect. But it maneuvers well and holds well with 90% of conditions. The exception being around piers and backwash with the random pulls and cavetations.
I do want to note I feel like i’m shortboarding with the sk8 750, the amount of work and effort to keep it going gets the heart rate up. Great for beach breaks too.
what fuse/tail you running with yr 850 sk8 Dan ?

I’ve hit the rocks soo many times with my stab I might get banned from the abuse it suffered ;D
don’t be afraid to go smaller but do it incrementally, the smaller stabs allow for tighter turns but you lose some of the supported glide
