Small kite for downwind starts

Pocket wing at the $500 mark

Fwiw the Nasastar 2.5m arrived (€200), only had one brief attempt in very messy conditions:

  1. Needs the bar or some form of handles in addition to the kite. I flew straight from lines without bar or handles, and I think suboptimal. There is a 3rd line that I think might trim it for stable overhead flight.
  2. Pulls very hard in 20kn.
  3. Launching a kite in very confused conditions while sitting is tricky. The video above makes it look easy, I can’t imagine it will always be that easy. Long bridles have a habit of wrapping around the nose of long boards… very much the makings of a kitemare
  4. Standing on the board with only the kite is tricky, harder than with a wing or SUP in very messy conditions
  5. The few times I stood up and got going on foil I overtook the kite. Maybe something in the technique here

oth better than expected for first go, but some refinements before I’d recommend it.
