Strong wind downwinders

What was the fetch of the waves you were catching?
Why was in unpleasant and why did you find doing turns useless?
Also, how were you taking off with the prone board, @Matt ? Were you catching a prone wave at a surf spot and then pumping out?

I’m sure gusting 50s is impressive to stand on in the water!

It’s these sheltered UK bays that are popular with windsurfers, storm swell pushes in, slows down on outside bars and then reforms into the bay. In this case it was straight onshore down the point, so prone chipping in off the rocks and riding down the point and then walking back up. No pumping. It was just sketchy and chaotic and the wind pushed the board so much when you leaned over for a turn that turns end up just staying flat. Novelty for sure but the boards are so aerodynamically unstable
