seriously thinking bout picking up a 3.5 Takoon Cloud or 3.0 Cloud One after watching Gav’s review.
Awesome value at one third of the price of the big names, esp in smaller sizes where packdown and depower arent so critical.
Any prefs btwn 3.5 Cloud and 3.0 Cloud One?

Cloud one will be heavy, not for light wind. note: 32 gr vs 54 gr!
hence focusing on the 3.0. the heavier cloth shouldnt matter much in 20 to 30 knots? gain some longevity too, if punishing it hooked in in lotsa knots

I just purchased a 4m cloud and a 3m cloud one off the same review - have the same logic as you have going, 4 for medium wind, 3m for the 20knt plus stuff. I’ve had analysis paralysis with parawings and as soon as a budget wing with a good review came out I decided to stop deliberating. Goal is to learn the skills, what conditions work best for it and then make informed decisions on next para.
I’m also considering a 3M cloud 1 and 4M cloud. What is the price difference though? Isn’t it less than 100 euro between cloud and C one?
On a 3M, aren’t we talking about 60 grams difference total weight?
edit: Looks like the difference on the 3M is only 80 euro
Total weight gain based on canopy material are the least benefit of a lighter material. Stashability and redeploy are where canopy material weight matter the most.
If it were me, i’ll definitely buy the Cloud over the Cloud One!
be curious experiences of buying/shipping a takoon PW if your in the US? as years ago bought a wing from gong and the shipping/customs was a pain to put it lightly maybe more easy these days?
