Top Mount Tails

Can anyone give me some insight why F-One seems to be the only brand running top mount tails?

To me the bottom mount is smarter. Everything can be swapped out and snugged up with the board flipped upside down. With the top mount stab like Axis or Fone as you mention, you have bolts going in both ways so you have to flip your rig around or do one upside down.

Yea trying to figure out if anyone knows the benefit of the top mount…

The theory is, it keeps the stabilizer out of the turbulence coming off of the front foil.

One benefit of a ‘Top mount’ like Axis vs. a ‘Bottom Mount’ like Armstrong is the protection of the tail, which is typically the first to hit a rock or reef. Straight Alu is way more durable than a thin carbon wrapped tail.
