Unifoil Evolution

I honestly have no insider knowledge about surf foils in development. But seeing how Unifoil is a surf-first company, I’m sure they’ll be really good.

Thanks for the review.
You compare it to the 140.
How would you compare it to the 125 (which is faster, more nimble but has a higher stall speed than the 140)?
I see my money will soon have a new home

I wouldn’t call it a review, more of a first impression. I had too limited of time on it in too perfect of conditions (Hood River) to review it really.

Regarding the 125. it’s really a completely different foil compared to the 140 IMHO and didn’t ride the 125 in Hood so it’s really hard to compare. I’ll definitely be making a real review once I get more time on the Evo’s

Any chance this pic looks similar to the Evolution you trialled.

I pretty sure this isn’t the evolution. It may be the chopped progression 125 Eric runs, but I’m not sure.

Found some specs on an orphan page on their site:

From the IG post Geiselman teased us with, it looks like the Solar Impulse.

I’m surprised the A/R isn’t higher? I was expecting 11ish

I haven’t seen the profile of it yet but the chord figures are surprisingly thin so it has to be a pretty straight wing. When you look at something like the Lift 150 that’s more triangle shaped, depending on how they calculate it, I think the AR figure as it relates to drag and glide could be a little skewed because of the variable geometry.

Yeah for something triangle shaped I think the slow, long chord parts do more damage than the thin parts help so they, on paper, perform worse than the AR where as a more square wing is better on paper maybe
