Unifoil’s pricing keeps creeping up… today I noticed the 3rd round of increases on their website.
80T mast → $960 → $980 → $1098
Same with foils

Whoa, it’s gone up quite a bit and it’s not just USA tariff adjustments as the CAD price is up 20% from the initial offering as well.
And shipping is still ridiculous
Gotta say that $150 hyper2 is tempting as a budget backup!
That’s pretty shitty. When this whole direct to customer thing started, a Evo 175 was $853 delivered to Australia, now it’s $1110. Considering the original retail price was $1285, that’s not that amazing, given that you’ve lost dealer support etc.
Pricing is settling. With the new model we’re incurring different logistical issues with warehousing, boxing, shipping ect. We’re working hard to minimize those costs while keeping inventory flowing. Our goal is to deliver the best possible price and value in the foil market. But there’s been some growing pains for sure. We’ll figure it out and appreciate your patience in the process.
the unifoils aren’t for my taste, but I definitely don’t think they’re doing anything “shitty.” They are just a business just trying to figure out a change. I don’t think it’s unethical or greedy or anything nefarious.
At ~$600 for a 1000+ cm area high end foil, they are still at about 40% less of the cost of Lift, Code, Duotone, Armstrong, etc.
That’s not real though after taxes and shipping
It is pretty real. I just spent $938 on an Evo 155, aluminum short fuse, and a afterburner tail shipped with taxes.
If I went with a code s 850 setup it would be $1,522 shipped from a well known retailer.
Obviously codes fuse is carbon so if we add the $150 to my order for a carbon fuse we get $1,088.
$1,522/$1,088 = 139%
So yeah, it’s about a 40% reduction no matter which way I slice it. I have been researching a new setup for a while and saving 40% is so nice right now.
I’m comparing Uni before and after the DTC change. I bought a 155 at its release a year ago for $920 total.
The shipping just makes no sense, $250 for a single foil from china. the catch all cost of one shipping price means They’re making profit on both dtc and shipping.
i can order a carbon fixed sup paddle (rrp$850) and it’ll cost about$65 in shipping from other china based dtc companies. Why would a foil cost $250. I’ve also lost any in country customer support, and my recent foil arrived before they even sent me shipping details.
The lack of transparency and genuine customer support is confusing as a keen unifoil customer
I don’t know.. a unibody foil from USA to Hawaii is 250$ easy. Why would it be cheaper from china. They have to use a tracked service like DHL which charge based on dimensional weight and a foil is dimensionally huge
I feel like we’re all used to shipping pricing when stuff is shipped over in a container(nearly $0 per unit) then sent out once stateside. With the tarriff thing being so unpredictable i wouldn’t be willing to roll the dice on a whole container. Better to drop ship a-la-carte from china which, yeah, is expensive if it’s not on a slow ass boat.
ya I got a bunch of DTC chinese efoil parts and the shipping was always very expensive for tracked stuff, all smaller heavier parts too. What was a lol was that they were very forward about suggesting understating value etc to reduce customs (I didn’t, to be clear, but to give you an idea). It still ALWAYS came out way below what you could get locally and these are mature commodity brushless motors, and it was cheaper and better (specific niche products, custom stators etc) by a huge margin.
This is the cheapest way to get a foil save for getting it out the back door of the factory ala Axis nightmare, or until they (the Chinese shops) start selling their own high quality brands like you see with the foil parts where the direct is actually better as the producers are actually super responsive to niche demands.
for the short term, there are still retailers w/uni gear that are offloading them at equal or better prices than uni’s site. you can get a shipping break there potentially… i.e. green hat, foil shop in seal beach, etc. i’d check there if you are looking at evo, prog, fuses, etc and shipping’s pricey.
I believe their products ship from a US warehouse
The I cant fathom why shipping would cost that much!!!
I just received this order yesterday. $75 for shipping and no tax is really not bad at all. Can’t wait to get out on the new gear.
Thanks Unifoil. ![]()
