Most of us are using Airbank Puffer Pro’s down here.
Worth it simply for the fact that you can get the rest of your gear ready (build your foil, put on a wetsuit etc) while the wing is pumping up and a bonus is it’s always at the exact PSI you pre-select.
Also smaller than most manual pumps.
Got an Airbank Puffer Pro too (I guess by down here you mean Australia) and found it excellent. Initially got it because I suspected my manual pump pressure gauge was inaccurate - turns out it was under-reading by about 1psi compared to the puffer pro. And I don’t understand how people think they can tell whether a wing is inflated properly by flicking it - the difference between 7-9 psi is indistinguisable for me.
But it’s just been a great investment and I don’t even bring my manual pump with me anymore. I think it will allow me to inflate my 5.5m wing 7+ times on a single charge (haven’t really been counting but definitely more than 6). Yesterday I inflated a 10” SUP to 18 PSI and it only took about 5 minutes and 1 bar of battery (but I suspect it would not inflate 5 SUPs on a single charge).
These seem to be a huge improvement on the initial release of SUP pumps where people were saying it would take 10+ minutes to pump a SUP and use most of the battery.
The puffer pro looks a lot like the ride engine air box mini and I wouldn’t be shocked to discover they’re the same under the covers.
