220lbs, Shortboarded 15years, Naish 1040HA feels hard to turn

Hey i have an update for ya.

So im getting into the 1040 2024 wing. Im starting to get 2for1s and pump back out and around.

This is paired with the chopped 220 stabilizer.

Im turning now but i still feel like a longboarder thar sets rail and glides. I wana swing around like a monkey touching the water going top to bottom, ect.

The tightest turns ive done are when someones about to get decapitated in front of me and i need to bring the foil back around away from the beach.

Feels like turning a midlength board.

The mach1 however…wow it feels grippy and like a thruster.

So ive gotten the pump down sometimes, and other times i find im slowly sinking down and the board touches the water.

Im using a freedom fusion foil board, and I move the Mast to the second mark and bigger days i move it back between the 1st mark and 2nd.

this is the level of BS required to make a freedom board stiff enough at our weight.

Heres a small wave. You can see how it coasts

Does Naish make shims for the stabilizers?

Any thin piece of plastic will work. I’m on uni right now which comes with a really nice shims but in the past I always just dug around in my car and found some piece of trash and cut it up with a pocket knife.
