270 Boards SUP, Wing, Parawing and DW Board review

I really enjoyed my wing board from @270boardco so i decided to get a custom DW board made…and this new board is a HUGE improvement!! The carbon build and glassing is leaps and bounds in improvement!! The board is stronger, more durable and really light. More durable than my 8’2" KT Dragonfly and lighter. The board is 8’0x19" at 118 liters, I wanted a flatter bottom for more stability, because my KT had the stability of a bowling ball. This thing is pretty stable in chop and gets on foil really quick. So far I wing on it, Parawing on it and sup foil surf it and I’m really happy with this board. Really maneuverable, haven’t DW it yet but I’ll get it out there soon! Overall @270boardco has made tremendous improvements in the design and build of his boards. It honestly feels more solid than the KT, Kalama’s and other local boards i rode here in Hawaii, not sponsored by @270boardco and I paid full price for the boards, just acknowledging you don’t need to pay 3k for a Frank, KT or Kalama’s for a high performance carbon boards!!

I believe Frank’s come in at $2k and that includes a board bag

Thanks my man! Lots of forward progress and the builds are insane. Very difficult to find a local US builder out of Hawaii, AUS, or Europe. Stoked we can make boards locally here all custom.

I have Wing and prone boards both from 270 and absolutely love them. Maybe next season I’ll order a downwind board as well.

Not for custom, almost 3K for a custom…ask me how do I know.

Yeah, the carbon build and glassing is a huge improvement from their previous glasser.

My Frank custom was $2300  Did you insult Frank somehow?

Yikes gone up!

Supply and demand, im sure its over 3k now. Stock KT’s are over 3k. The @270boardco boards are up there in quality, i see lots of KT, Franks, Kalama’s here on Oahu and I think my 270 is just as good and i didnt spend as much. Just my feedback. If you look on Oahu or Hawaii FB Marketplace, there are so many DW boards for sale and they’re trying to recoup their cost but its not moving or being sold at their asking price of $1500.

Tough resale market in Hawaii, some of these been sitting for close a year.

if someone boxed all those up and shipped them to EU at those prices

they still wouldn’t sell here haha it’s a slow old market for v2 boards

An OG Baracuda would be a nice keepsake if you have the space. I like that yellow one

I’m guessing DW board sales have fallen because of parawing. Traveling with a PW board is much more manageable too.

The Hawaii used market is ridiculous.

If you’re going to buy gear anyway you could probably finance a whole trip out to the islands with the money you’d save.

Probably board karma would take care of it. on the way back, hawaii airlines would probably destroy your board so you cant enjoy your deal at home.

Air freight is your friend

Yes its gone up for sure, my point is if you’re spending 3k on a board and you get half back from resale, consider yourself lucky. My @270boardco was half of a Frank Board in cost and same or even better quality build than the Franks, KT or Kalama.
