I currently have an axis mast and a stringy adapter to a code foil. I was wondering if anyone installed a heli coil into the axis mast so a longer screw would be used to go through the adapter and into the mast for a stronger connection? Any thoughts or past experiences?

You need a barrel nut rather than a helicoil for true strength. Though anything is better than the those tiny M6 screws that the threads fail on.
