Is AFS solely focused on France? Judging by their website, that seems to be the case.
They dont really re post riders from other parts of the world on thier Instagram page. Solely seem to be focus on Europe, they dont really have much representation here in Hawaii thats for sure, not much marketing either.
I’ve been wondering this as well, they used to have a UK website that listed everything in £, but that’s now gone and on their main website the only option is to pay in euros.
They are still working with US dealers. I recently bought a new foil and there is stock in the US. Probably just can’t order through the website direct which may be a new change due to tariffs or something (although I never ordered through their website).
I just spoke with a friend o mine who works at the factory (in France), and says they are improving their website and should be back in no time ![]()
This was my first guess, same with the Unifoil “sale” which I’d have guessed was a combo sale and a new IT guy struggling to come to grips with a badly configured ecommerce setup
For AFS, I’m guessing they decided against the one-website-per-currency/geo approach because it was just confusing and a pain to maintain. From a consumer perspective I didn’t like it at all.
What did you grab?
Enduro 900 and Pure 145 tail. It isn’t really the one foil travel quiver I was hoping for (still grabbing for that Silk 850), but the glide is really nice and it is additive to the quiver. Nowhere near as controlled as the silks in the kind of turning that I like to do on waves (although can’t really expect that at AR11). Feels like low end is on par with the 1050, but range is narrower. Wants to ride more down the line and dw style (and its good at that), but full cutback style turns, direction changes and steeper conditions feel off. I need to spend more time tuning it and experimenting, but its cold and thats not how I want to be spending time in the water at this time of the season. Still TBD what gear I’ll be travelling with this winter and need to make some decisions. Was hoping to travel with a single foil that wasn’t uniblock, but I think I may just stick with my trusty 1050/850 combo again.
Haven’t had enough sessions playing with the stabilizer across all of the foils yet to give a full read yet, but it definitely unlocks some speed.
<<updated - pure 145 not 150>>
Hi everyone, benoit here who works with afs in the Americas. Definitely no shrinkage, actually have full country coverage in the US with retailers now so we are quite stoked to have so many partners to share our love of foiling with. And for the international folks we added Australia this year and have grown quite a bit in South America.
Yes unfortunately the website is even worse than before as of 2 months ago but fingers crossed it’ll be better than ever soon, currently targeting a December roll out of a great new site in everyone’s local currency. For the US pricing will be tarriff inclusive as we warehouse here.
In the meantime please reach out to your favorite retailer and they will be able to take care of you.
Regarding social media the team is in France so maybe due to time zones they see and repost more Europe. But they do repost a fair amount of content from everywhere.
Apologies for any inconveniences.
PS we are super stoked for 2026 a lot of fun things coming!
Can confirm I’ve had zero problems getting all the AFS gear I need through the Foil Shop in Seal Beach - they also ship worldwide. If you need to get some gear shoot me a message and I can even hook up a small discount there!
Easy Peasy to get AFS gear up here in Canada Eh.
Kind of a bummer. I thought the website was bad already, and now it’s definitely worse. ![]()
The language part is more difficult than the currency part. I build websites for a living and have done both of those things. I built one site where we needed to have 5 different languages. It was doable for languages that use the same characters as US (French, Portuguese, Spanish, etc), but got tricky when doing other characters since I couldn’t read them. That said, the currency part is much easier, since there are plenty of plugins that will help with that.
Sneak peeks popping up on the socials and AFS Insider whatsapp group but haven’t seen any formal announcements yet. This just looks unreal:
yeah, that’s the way…. Ti front fuse, carbon from the mast back to the tail
Now we’re talking!! I bet I can’t break that one.
Time you told us about the new silk 550 or something like that please
Mando joke in there i see you!
I haven’t seen anything pop up in the socials for new Silks. That fuse, at least one new tail (hard to tell with the little clips they tease), a new 80cm skinny (105 chord 13.2 thick) just showed up on the website.
The whatsapp AFS insider group is a fun way to keep yourself on edge for sure.
