Anyone ever flat-water paddle-uped both regular AND goofy?

Just looking for some inspiration, as I’ve recently challenged myself to learn from both sides.:call_me_hand:

I was having a lot of trouble switching feet with the wing a few years back. So next time I went out surf foiling, I spent the whole session trying to ride switch stance. It was a disaster but I kind of did it. I think if you sacrificed a few sessions to focus it might come quickly

Yeah, that’s the plan. Everytime I go out, I’ve just been forcing myself to paddle switch-stance. Ain’t easy, but sure is a good workout. We’ll see what happens!:call_me_hand:

I haven’t tackled the switch stance sup DW challenge, but I can definitely see benefits in more symmetric forces on the body/back. I find staying in my preferred stance (goofy) and doing a lot of paddling up puts a strain on my left side lower back area. I mitigate it with stretching, but it’s not ideal…

Not flat water, but there are two people in the gorge who paddle-up in the bumps and ride switch quite often. Both are “clean-slate” in terms of board-sport backgrounds - ie they don’t have a history of surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding etc. And both came up through kite and wing racing, where you have to be riding both directions to be competitive

@Zarb @noripplez That’s awesome to hear! I love the idea of being able to ride both ways doing long downwinders so your body doesn’t cramp as easy. Gonna get after it!
