Appletree midlength

Hi, has anyone tried the Appletree midlength for para, was thinking the 57 litre version , currently on a 65 Amos , want to drop a bit and get a slightly tougher board .

Love the Amos but want closed cell foam .

Have an omen emissary which is made in apple tree factory. Slightly heavier than a more standard construction, but for mid length sized seems well worth the trade off

I’m an Appletree fan and that board was at the top of my list, but I kept wondering why there are so few reviews out there from the usual sources…was chatting with someone who regularly does reviews (and has been a fan of Appletree boards in the past) who said that no-one at the shop is a fan of that board. I didn’t get details, but I think that might help explain why they at least didn’t review it (?!).

I’m on a V1 Omen Flux floater and am not a big fan of the instability on the water and what feels to me like vague pumping on the water (and the standard weight penalty for Appletree construction). Everything else I like.

Came from a 60L v1 flux. Really think these boards are designed to be ridden at negative buoyancy

I get that impression too…when the chop gets big, it can be handful

I may be slightly biased (appletree ambassador - who gets discounted boards) But I have the 47 and 77 midlength. I think the shape is great, the 77L is slightly below body weight (85kg) and works well as a parawing board. Ive also proned the 77, which feels a bit big compared to my normal 31L, but makes a long paddle out (to Ka’a for example) much easier. For pure prone I would choose the 47L, which also makes the 1/2 mile paddle out there managable. The midlengths do not have an much of a weight penalty as the dedicated wing boards from appletree.

Got a custom 46l 6,3 mid length appletree for prone foil, ended up weighing so much it was like 1kg less than my 90L sunova 7,6 so I didn’t use it cuz it’s too heavy for my kind of pumping around prone. If anyone wants to buy it im bali, I’ll sell for 1000
