Can anyone give feedback on the Axis V2 999 vs 939 in terms of range. I demoed a 999 and it came onto foil so quickly on my mid length board I almost felt like I could go smaller. It would be for wing and parawing. I’m 184 lbs.
If it helps… I’m 75kg and have been riding the 879. I find I can get it foiling on an 85l wing board (not narrow) in around 16-18 knots of wind with a 5m wing. Roughly equivalent lift to my Spitfire 840, maybe a little more. If you ride in conditions where you can be powered up most or all of the time I imagine the 939 will be great for your weight, especially if you already experienced the 999 as having a lot of lift.
Thanks, ending up getting the 939 paired with the 90 liter 6’ 5” SIC Ka’a and I made the right decision. The 939 planes early and pumps really well which I’m sure I’ll appreciate when I start using parawing’s.
as a similarly weighted individual who found the 999 to require the most speed of any wing I’ve tried, what wind speeds are you in? I use it in 13kts+ on the sillyshort a+ fuse. I have a 1070 which works down to 7 kts, but isn’t as great in choppy water at 15kts+
Took a long time for me to get back to this, apologies. I ride in the Gorge, this wing seems to excel in 15-27 (give or take) after which I could go smaller. I’m going to look for a Spitfire 840 to compliment for a free ride foil as I find the 939 isn’t as agile as I would like at times. My wing skills are just developing and the Spit is noticeably looser. I think for parawing the 939 will be spot on as it pumps really well.
