Hi! I have a Black Project paddle that keeps leaking water in and I’m worried of causing damage by keeping on undoing and reglueing the handle over and over to let the water out.
I was thinking about drilling a tiny hole in the handle for drainage and cover it with a silicone cap or gorilla tape.
if you chopped your paddle down to a certain height you may have cut it crooked. if you sand the shaft to make sure its a straight line cut and use plenty of hot glue it should be water tight.
I’ve never seen a paddle that didnt get water in it at some point or another, reglue the blade. I consider taking my paddle apart and regluing it every once in a while standard maintenance
check for dings in the paddle shaft also, had a buddy actually crack the paddle shaft and his was getting water in it, thing still held up without any signs of weakness for a long time before we figured out there was a hole in the shaft lol shout out BP if that was a QB it would’ve snapped
