So I really appreciate the quick plate set up with the locking f one screws.I used it’s just nice and easy, and you don’t have to like, take em off and on every time.So it’s a little faster for me.And then I have the lock in plate so I don’t have to worry about where my mask is gonna move every time I hook it up
The fuselage is definitely thicker. She’s a big girl. I noticed it did feel a little bit draggy, I think, or I had some kind of like seaweed sensation definitely noticing. It was more difficult to paddle around, but it also could be the swell.Mix up hard to tell with the high air tide.I’ll let you know more tomorrow and update review.
First ride. It definitely feels more locked in. It feels like there’s very to little flex. If anything it doesn’t feel squishy, doesn’t feel like I’m questioning what’s gonna happen under my feet. I feel more confident with it. I feel like hold angles a lot better and rolls a little bit more easily. I found more confidence in my returns. And I think the biggest change was how the pumping felt a little bit more stiff, and there was a little bit more pressure on the front wing than I anticipated. And I had the ability to like dig out a little bit more in weird positions, though, I did ultimately a struggle with pumping back out today.
Is it worth the upgrade?
Im still 50/50…Maybe with the sushi coming up.
The stiffness change it is noticeable, especially for me at 212 pounds. I definitely noticed the rigidity. But is it really worth it? I’m not entirely sure quite yet. It felt like I lowered my car suspension. Whereas previously it was like a smoother ride. Now I feel every bump

When you feel every bump, do you mean the setup feels more pitch sensitive?
What I’ve really like about towing with the SK8 650/750 V1 has been how smooth it feels when I’m getting towed around at 20+ mph. But I always thought the SK8’s are difficult to pump.
I would be disappointed if the V3 added some pitch instability for improved pumping.
i dont know anything about f-one, but it looks like they went from a f4 style fuse to a code style one. I love both, but in terms of glide/speed/pumping, the f4 style fuse wins because its less drag. The cost is that the code is built way stronger so less likely to damage. but dont get me wrong code is still great, so i think as a business you have to make trade-offs, there were simply too many problems either with the manufacture or riders were too tough on riding that they had to make the change to a more ‘rigid, but more draggy’ contruction. Nothing wrong with that I think, as its still monobloc and their tail is monobloc which is better than codes
Ok so update for today. Size was bigger but it was still choppy windswell 8sec period mixed with some 16sec swell. I had some good pumps back out during lulls, it REALLY feels locked in.
I saw this review and I think it really captures the feeling well
For this third-generation SK8, the foil’s profile and outline have been refined to deliver a true “surf-like feel”, ensuring it brings steady pressure at all times, whether carving in a critical part of the wave or overpowered in choppy waters
I found this to be entirely true and it really captured what i was feeling.
What i mean by the feel of each bump is that maybeeee my old mast was flexing. I really like this stiffness feel. I didn’t know I had flex maybe? Or never knew it existed.
I really need to bring both to the beach and swap within 20mins testing each. But i was happy with my performance today. I didn’t get any sudden drops, but it felt more like a gradual change. I think they decreased pitch sensitivity a tiny bit maybe, you might be right…but I can’t stop comparing it to stiffer suspension or like new tires or feeling very Grippy.
