What foil size would you use to learn to SUP foil into shore break?
My board is 7’10” x 23”, with 140 fat liters. 6’, 170 lbs. Lower intermediate surfer with minimal SUP experience.
I don’t know if I’d recommend learning by sending it straight into a shore break
That’s board has a lot of volume for your weight, you’ll probably downsize that pretty soon for surfing.
As for foil at 70kg the biggest foil I’ll ride (for the smallest surf I go out in) is a Code 1130s, 850s as my average condition foil and 615s for when it’s big.
I did have the 1300s but it’s simply too big for my weight and harder to ride than the 1130s. So for your weight I’d be looking around the 1130s size as well, the 980s is a very popular all rounder size.

Yeah, I figured I could downsize once I get the hang of it
