So ive moved house and instead of driving i can now walk to the beach, The access is now down a sort of goat track which would be treacherous with a assembled foil. Has anyone got any neat ways of carrying all the gear (foil, mast, board, wetsuit with both hands free or even one hand free and board under one arm
I used to use a hydration pack with outside straps to walk into a spot. Carry board under arm like normal.
Foil, front wing and fuse and tail all one piece. Mast separate. Lay the backpack on the ground. Lay the foil on top of backpack, front wing on top just above shoulders. Lay mast on top parallel with the fuse. Baseplate is by the front wing. Clip that onto the backpack with the exterior straps. Then you can wear the backpack and the foil and mast are strapped to it tight.
Essentially this.
Iv never don’t this myself but Iv always thought about using a bow and arrow bag to pack down my foil gear. You’d still have to carry your board under your arm but might be able to fit everything else in that style bag
When I used to kite foil I would ride my bike to the beach with the foil assembled on the board. I used a kite bag that had a high strap that I wrapped around the mast right next to the board . The board was suspended securely behind my back with the weight on the back pack straps vs the mast putting pressure points on my shoulders. Works for prone boards, would not work well for wing or dw boards though.
