I get about 1.5 hrs of run time on a max power which generally means I’m pretty well spent and don’t really want to go through the hassle of changing out batteries, not to mention my local spot is typically only good for a few hours based on tides and winds. However, there are some days where I probably could make use of the throttle a bit more and some days that I might want another 30 minutes. At 90kg I have to paddle pretty hard to get the board out of the water without wave assist. Choppy conditions and tidal movement really sap the power at times, but glassy all is well.
So the question is spend $800 on another max and get the new turquoise prop, or first get the max hi-power, then maybe the prop?
Not a very popular thread! So here’s the answer to my question… get the turquoise blue prop (low end power) then, if need be another battery (hi power or max.).
The blue prop is so much better than the standard three blade for getting out of the water, for powering through chop, and for going into the wind. Because of this, I found I was on throttle more, though not full throttle like I would be on the standard, and not resting at all between sets. And more throttle is a shorter session, so need another battery!
