Do the foot strap holes need the windsurf self - tapping type screws with the extra wide looking threads like these. It looks like it has the plastic inserts that require this type of screw. thanks

When I emailed Omen they said
“For the straps use self tapping stainless steel M5 screws.”
I couldn’t find that so I bought these guys from wind-NC Footstrap Screw 1-3/16" – Wind-NC

I also tried the screws that come standard with the MFC footstrapz. Which seemed to work.
My main problem was getting the strap in the right place… and I still can’t figure out where I need the back strap to go in order to pump in the straps. Right now max forward puts my foot behind the mast, and so taking it out to pump is my current strategy…. I’m on the 60liter btw.
So far it’s been an awesome board and even unlocked proning for me at 210#. But I don’t know if straps are ultimately for me.

I understand these come with the new KT boards and they worked on the Omen. I also asked Eddy at Bigwinds about it and he seemed to say that too fat is better than too long. I wouldn’t follow my lead though because I was in a rush to ride in Hatteras set the board down to put foot straps on and then a 30kt gust blew it across the Canadian hole parking lot. I pulled a rock out of the bottom. Now it actually looks used.
