Its all buy sell trade. These scammers that copy photos from ebay, facebook etc and post an add here.

Here is another, possibly same scammer? May be able to verify by IP on admin side.

Is there a way to filter out all the “For Sale” stuff, or at least out-group the Buy/Sell areas?

Whoops Kurtis posted ~the same thing as I was typing.

My typical view looks like this which is 6/10, 60% Ads for Buy/Sell. I don’t want to kill the mojo for used Gear but isn’t Craigslist / eBay … where Richard should be selling his Foil Drive?

I don’t know how to separate out the buy and sell category on a global level. On a personal level you should be able to configure your Home Screen. I’ll look into it again.

I deleted richard and Wayne’s accounts and posts.

Anyone else I should look at?

I was thinking IP could be an option also.
That and email addresses.

Sure you can use a VPN for a new IP and create another email account, but that takes effort.
if it becomes too much work for scammers it will filter a lot of them out.

A “report profile” feature would be great.

It would be great if someone worked out how to do this. I’m not interested in buy sell & kinda lose interest in the site when these ads dominate the first page.
I appreciate all the hard work though.

You can mute a category, go to the category, select notifications>Mute and it won’t show up in your “latest” feed.

I too was tired of seeing the buy and sale adds. I muted them on my phone by going to : Preference, (scroll the header) +Tracking, Muted Categories, Save changes.

That is absolute gold! It looks so much nicer now on the home screen. Thanks.

@Erik

Here is another couple scam profiles.

Deleted posts and accounts of them both

I get that people don’t want to always see for sale stuff - just use your filters to hide it.

I have sold 100% of my used gear through this forum in the last couple of years - and picked up a couple items as well. It is the only place out there with an active and dedicated foil audience, and the community aspect adds a lot of trust on both ends. eBay, facebook, Craigslist…all suck pretty heavily in contrast.

Please don’t get rid of this. It is definitely a value add for the community.

It will not go away. Ideally I’d be able to create a better landing page with say 5-10 of the most recent topics and then a category list.

It’s configurable on the user side but somewhat limited on my side unless I’m missing something.
