Gong NOTW downwind board

Anyone on here have any experience or info on the new Gong downwind boards? Specifically the NOTW model. Price is half most DW boards.

And it’s good!
I have a Gong NOTW 4’10 (35) for prone.
It’s super light and glides well on water.
Probably not as durable as a $1500 board, but hey, it’s 1/3rd the price.

Unfortunately they do not ship hard boards to the US

Starting friend has the 8.8 and found it helping him a lot with his progression.

Wanted to get the 8’0 but don’t ship to the US unfortunately

I’ve been looking at their mid lengths but same with shipping.

Could justify a trip to Italy

Rep from the company basically told me if I secure my own shipping I could place an order for pick up and have the shipping company pick it up for transport. Gonna look into it. If I can find something with a good reputation that’s not crazy expensive maybe we could bundle a couple orders to one transport

I heard the going rate is 400

I could live with that. Know any good shipping companies?

I don’t unfortunately

If I recall correctly, they use DHL

If you go down this path, I would advise securing a killer shipping company.
I am in France, and out of 3 Gong boards I bought, 2 arrived damaged.
And we are only talking about a few hundreds miles shipment.
Their original packaging is cheap af.
So the company shipping to the US would need to add a layer on top of it.

Nice thanks! Were they using that hex-flex stuff when you ordered your boards?

Exactly, it’s shipped in this:

This stuff is more designed to be “eco-friendly” than “board-friendly”.

To give you a comparison point, last year I bought an Amos from Australia.
It was simply wrapped in 10 layers of bubble wrap, and it arrived safe.
