I had a dream that....(fill in with your post)

A complete foil setup cost $800, and the swell was 12 second period swell

I was attacked my a swarm of nano-bees.

I had a session 7 years ago i still dream about. The wind and swell were perfect and I was flying down the line on my gofoil Maliko at what is now still unknown but one of the best foil spots in the US. Flying with me down the line was a monarch butterfly, and I reached out and grabbed it out of the air with an open hand and held it and stared at it and then released it, and it flew away. It was the most perfect and magical moments, and I’ll never experience anything like it again as long as I live.

Very cool. We have a lot of moments with dolphins where we prone. My favorite was having one greet me as I paddled out, then realizing on a wave that it was riding alongside me with its nose a few inches off of my front wing. It was making micro adjustments alongside me to keep our spacing consistent. Felt like part of the pod. Foiling really unlocks another level of interactions with nature

Women in bikinis on the beach :umbrella_on_ground:

I’ve had a few dreams that I’m cruising around a snowy mountain or through the streets and eventually realize that I’m on a foilboard. I usually think about how bad it must be for the foil and sometimes I can tell it’s being ground up. At that point I either wake up or it just keeps going.

I had a dream that I loaned my favourite gear to an old friend. When I got it back the heelside of the stab was smashed up and a lot smaller than the toeside. I rode it anyway and was surprised that I loved it. I woke up from my dream in the middle of the night and wrote down the inception of an idea. The idea wouldn’t go away… what if an asymmetric stabiliser could reduce roll resistance into heelside carves, and could it help me reduce my offset stance, and could that improve my pump efficiency. 2 days later I had designed, CNC machined and was riding my first asymmetric stabiliser. I’m not sure where this dream will lead and if I’ll ever sell an asymmetric model, but dreams and “sticky” ideas are always worth following…

I’d have a part time job for next 10 years which still pays the bills, supports d family and allows me to foil as much as possible.

oh to be able to work 4-5 hours a day and live comfortably… What a life would that be

To the nature encounters - I had a winging session just after sunrise where I was about a mile offshore. lightish warm wind. Totally peaceful. Out of nowhere a flamingo flew past me, about 6’ off the water. I have never before or since seen a flamingo in the wild, but they are huge when flying! It blew my mind and I have dreamed about it several times since then.

Another time when I arrived at the beach for what was going to be a pretty mediocre session, and as soon as I got there I saw a pod of whales swimming. Not a typical occurrence where I live and I only occasionally see them in the very far distance on the horizon. I got super excited and basically ran into the water to paddle out and for the rest of the session, I kept seeing whale flukes, breaches and spouts out of the corner of my eye. I was never particularly close to them or felt in danger (I was generally inside of the shelf, where it was too shallow for a whale), but they were a presence for the entire session and it was really magical to be “among” them.

The nature encounters really stick out to me. Neither was an all-time session as far as conditions go, but the reminder of sharing the water and wild with other creatures out there made the sessions really special.

….we had a real president that was well spoken, actually cared about the people in the US and didn’t make up stupid tariffs and start stupid wars, all of which make foiling more expensive.

While I’m not from your country I for one, and I suspect many others also share that dream.

weird, i had a dream that i was a butterfly and some guy grabbed me while he was foiling.

I dream I’m still foiling at 100 (or whatever it’s going to become in 40yrs)

Someone posted a pic on FB a couple of days ago of an asymmetric stab, was that you/?

I posted a reel on insta (@crisp_og) and Facebook (Crisp Foils) last weekend. Maybe that’s what you saw. I’ve been riding my asymmetric stab for a few weeks now, it’s great fun experimenting with ideas, especially those which came randomly from dreams.

Dreamlike but real life. I was winging with my son by a reef. Shoulder high rollers everywhere, occasionally breaking. He wipes out after kelp takes him down. As he is getting up a wave starts to stand up and is about to break. He is focused on getting up and doesn’t notice he’s about to get smoked. As he gets to his feet on the board he drops into the wave and is flying down the line. I observe this all from behind the wave and I see him pull off the drop in of his life at 16. Perfect timing. Calm and smooth in a hectic situation. Lucky but super cool.
