At this point F4 should just sponsor Edo. Slingshot will have a heck of a time replicating a winning foil

Why would they? More value and no investment having him ride the gear unsponsored. free publicity from arguably the highest value spokesperson in the sport. Kind of like Adam Bennetts pre Flite except time is objective and a stylish top turn isn’t.

Agree. They can advertise as “the production foil that swept the Koa Kai Triple Crown.” That might never happen again.
I don’t think they need to chase team riders.

There are great results throughout the field. Trent Carter, also on F4, was in the lead pack for most of the race and wound up near the podium for the overall and 3rd in his age group. It has to among his best ever? Cole Wiley had a standout series consistently near the top twenty. This event was incredibly difficult with small bumps and glassy spots. So perhaps not perfect conditions.
Why surprised me was that some team riders are on custom one-offs that will never be available to anyone and can’t produced at scale. The notion that these are prototypes for next year’s production is really false.

Impressive showing for the HH / SR F4 combo. That anybody can buy and ride these foils really shows your enthusiasm and commitment to DW foiling 
I won’t fault brands offering their riders prototypes that won’t ever be produced. There can’t be much profit in these types of foils, even for F4. All most can expect to gain is the feedback from their riders.

I just had a stellar UW/DW PW session with the 585 HH and 85 Tuttle SR mast. Bumps were pretty groomed out in the waist high range - current against wind.
I cannot believe how fun this setup is to turn and carve!!! It doesn’t make any sense. I was getting completely new sensations. The rail to rail fluidity and quickness is just next level. I was also able to ‘pump down the line’ like you would on a surfboard, for the first time ever on a foil. Not just up/down pumps, but up to swell and back down on each pump - felt fantastic. Each DW run I felt like I was unlocking something new. This was my first real session with it. Keep in mind this was after swapping out the Piranha into the truck.
The fact that this foil and mast can win races but also turn like this just doesn’t make sense!! Well done F4 team!!!
Edit: these turns were at pretty slow speed. I haven’t had a chance to ride it in bigger swell yet, so it could get more locked in at higher speeds.

Dylan, what stab was Edo running in the Hawaii races? I assume it’s the 100S or a proto?

I’ll update the specs on the Hammerheads, these are 16+AR front wings. Edo is on the 100XS stablizer. The top riders seem to like these, despite how flexy they are. For parawing or wing, these are rideable, just alot more pitch unstable. For DW, they seem to lock in and are super slippery.

Just had a fun session testing some wing combos PW UP/DW. Here’s the text from my Instagram post.
@f4foils back to back test session! Orca vs Hammerhead vs Piranha in tide against wind bay conditions!
Most user friendly award: Orca 685/135DW - old faithful - easy carve/glide/pump! Best low end, but also the largest. (Think mid-length)
Most dynamic award: Hammerhead 585/125DW- feels the loosest on all axis, both upwind and downwind. Quick roll and fun to carve up slow moving bumps! Not just for ocean swells!! (Think twin fin)
Most Shreddable Award: Piranha 600/138Surf Ready to carve up the swells with 100% confidence. Also requires the most action (think thruster)
So stoked on this quiver!!! Just so hard to pick which combo each session!! All tails XS fuse size.
BRM 5.3 handled the 11-22mph winds great! No problem getting these tiny foils up!
