any plans to make the AX mast in a tuttle option? 80cm?
Nice, me personally I see no point of a surf wing higher than 650. Because that means you’re surfing smaller waves, which means you are better off with a faster higher aspect wing. But I guess beginners need their larger surf wings because they don’t know how to ride HA wings in the surf.
Yes please! 80 is the magic number.
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. We have Tuttle masts in longer lengths for wing/ windsurf racing and working on a new radical mast for DW. These are still in development, so I just don’t have availability dates yet!!

Chris,
When do you think F4 or the industry will develop a mast with stainless steel section that will be substantially narrower? how far are we from that?
Looks great! I dont personally agree that bigger surf wings are pointless, some people still want to have the maneuverability on smaller waves, but over 950 or is actually probably pointless. I guess will depend on the low-end as well, and ability to pump it.
Speed and glide of HA foils is addicting for sure, but there’s definitely a place for larger MA surf wings outside prone/tow… parawing has brought me a whole new appreciation for them. Easy lift, light wind PWing in the surf, the ability to stay in the pocket, the stability they offer in whitewater/turbulance in around the surf zone is a big advantage.
Yeah, I’ve sized up 200CM on my surf wing over my standard prone wing for PW purposes. So instead of 680CM, I ride a 880 with the PW in the bumps. Probably would ride the same at the oceanfront as well.
You should try the AFS Silk 1050 or even the smaller Enduro 900..will change your perceptions
Hi,
We’ve done lots of different surf wings in different aspect ratios over the years, however with these we are using similar concepts as the DW/ parawing designs that have exceptionally low stall and take off speed. While lower in aspect, the low end performance should be very good relative the area. We will find out pretty soon as the first batch is in transit.

What’s the chord length of the 85cm 13mm mast?
Hi,
Chord length on the 85 TE mast is 113mm at the bottom where the blend to the fuselage connection starts.

When are the new surf orcas likely coming out?
The surf orcas are expected to arrive toward the end of November!! Will keep you posted!!
Thx
Chris
Just to confirm, the Orca GP 1250 is the current best pump foil? The original “Pump Front Wing” (separate wing and fuse) on your website is now obsolete?
Hi,
The pump foil is not obsolete - there are several wings available. These are just part of our CA platform which uses an aluminum fuselage. The GP series is all carbon and the orca 1250 is the largest of the series.

Will the 1250 with 13mm mast pump significantly better than the 1050 with 11mm mast?
Hi,
The 13mm or standard TE mast is much better for pumping the larger orca wings. The AX mast is not better for pure pumping or recommended for the larger Orcas!
Thx,
Chris
So 1050/1250 are considered the large orcas
