I am struggling to find any sort of Tow foiling laws for Ski’s in southern california. Is it true that towing is illegal but guys just do it anyway?
Jetski tow foiling is legal in SoCal. You just have to follow all the same rules as a boat/water skier. Most tow foilers ignore the observer with flag rule. My buddy and I were tow foiling in Long Beach Harbor on his jetski and got a warning from the Harbor Patrol for only having two people.
If you get too close to a lifeguarded beach they’ll be out there right away to stop you.
I think the bigger issue is that we really don’t have outer reefs in socal and you definitely shouldn’t tow in a lineup.
